The Problem

There are numerous oral traditions and life stories that remain unwritten and lost in time. Paraguay has a rich history of cultural stories, historical events, and more, but unfortunately, many of these were not archived or documented in writing. As they weren’t documented, much of Paraguayan history remains unknown. Furthermore, there are few digital archives where Paraguayans can learn about their history.

We all need to be heard and have a voice. LetrasDeParaguay is an NGO that does exactly that by giving visibility to the diversity of voices, stories, history, and the indigenous people of Paraguay."

---Anna Romero, Guaraní activist

Our Approach

How we make a difference

Record, Archive, Share

We connect passionate high school writers with anyone in Paraguay who has a story that they want to share. We convert their stories into short novels, translate them, share them in Paraguay and with the rest of the world, and then archive the stories, preserving them for generations to come.

Empowering local voices

Through our platform, we are dedicated towards amplifying the voices of those that are unheard.

Our Local Empowerment program is dedicated to building bridges between cultures and promoting greater understanding and appreciation of Paraguay's cultural heritage. Through partnerships with local organizations and community members, we work to preserve and promote the stories of our people.
